What EFASS is
Education for All South Sudan supports learning recovery for South Sudan's most marginalised children, while strengthening the Ministry of General Education and Instruction's capacity to sustain that progress once EFASS concludes.
EFASS succeeds the Girls' Education South Sudan (GESS) programmes, which expanded access to education across the country for over a decade. Where GESS worked nationwide on access, EFASS targets learning recovery in 16 counties, and pairs it with strengthening the systems government will keep using.
It is funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the Government of Canada, and delivered by a consortium led by the International Rescue Committee.
Strengthen existing systems. Build from within government. Verify information close to the source. Test before scaling. Put people and institutions alongside technology.
