Why it matters
Children with disabilities are among the most likely to be out of school and the least likely to be counted. EFASS plans for physical, communication and learning accessibility from the start: at least 10% of the budget is ring-fenced for disability inclusion, and every partner budgets at least 2% for reasonable accommodation.
What we do
Disability inclusion facilitators
Young people with lived experience of disability who flag barriers, coach implementers and support community engagement.
Organisations of persons with disabilities
SEM and SSUPD act as accountability partners, validating targeting, design and delivery for children with disabilities.
Disability resource hubs
Practical support through materials, tools, referrals and inclusive teaching resources.
Assistive devices and accessible materials
Mobility aids, hearing devices, reading glasses, Braille textbooks, sign language dictionaries and audio learning resources, matched to each child's needs.
Support needs are identified using the Washington Group Questions and the UNICEF Child Functioning Module, and all learning materials follow Universal Design for Learning principles.
