Draft for the demo. To be reviewed by the consortium's data protection leads before launch.
What we collect, and why
EFASS collects only the information it needs for clear education purposes, mainly through SSSAMS, the government's own system.
Learner details
Name, date of birth, sex, school, class and a learner identifier, so each learner is counted once.
Attendance and progress
Daily attendance and year-by-year progression, to spot drop-out early.
Disability and displacement
Functional difficulties and displacement status, so support reaches the learners who need it.
Cash transfer details
Eligibility, validation and payment records, to make sure payments reach the right learners.
Who can see it
Only authorised MoGEI and programme staff who need it for their role. Information is never sold, and is shared with other organisations only under a data-sharing agreement. Reports use combined figures that do not identify any individual learner.
How long we keep it
Only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
You can ask what information is held about you or your child, ask for it to be corrected, and raise a complaint through the feedback channels.
Photographs and stories
- Informed consent from a parent or caregiver, and the child's own agreement, for every photograph of a learner
- No full names, schools or villages published alongside a child's image
- No images of children in distress or that could cause stigma, including in relation to disability
- Location data removed from image files before publishing
- Group shots, or faces not shown, wherever possible
- Images stored securely and removed when consent is withdrawn
