Why it matters
Children can only learn where they are safe. Safeguarding in EFASS covers learners in school and in their communities, and the information EFASS holds about them.
What we do
Protection focal point teachers
Teachers trained on child protection and psychosocial support, so they recognise signs of abuse, neglect, exploitation and distress.
Protection referral desks
Accessible points in schools where learners can raise a concern and be linked to the right services.
Community protection committees
Community-level structures that support schools to identify and respond to protection risks early.
Safe handling of learner data
Learner information, including disability status, is collected only for a clear purpose and protected throughout.
